Life as we know it..

I just came back from seeing the movie Life as we know it..was a cute movie..as vain as it sounds I love a good movie with good looking people, cute clothes, and especially when an active lifestyle is demonstrated in the movie..
In this movie, "Messer" played by Josh Duhamel goes running quite often..just seeing someone else running makes me want to lace up sneakers and just go...There is something so peaceful and relaxing about it. It completely clears your head, gives you some time to stop focusing on everything else you got going on in your life and just go..run....
There are moments when I like to run alone- no ipod- no friends- just me alone, and please leave me alone..
Other moments where I like to run a friend, to chat, catch up, especially times when I'm lazy but I know I need it- a friend is the best person to get you going and motivate you..
There are times when an ipod with new downloaded music is the best thing since sliced bread..as embarassing as it is I'll imagine I'm dancing (cuz thats as far as my dance skills go) or in a dramatic movie, or singing the song at karaoke...its endless...but running takes you out of the present moment wherever your life is holding and lets you just completely relax and refresh..
That being said, I'm sure you realize I HATE THE TREADMILL..I've tried it over and over again...I just cant do it..I'm bored out of my mind..cant wait to get outa there..keep staring at the time, staring at the other people on treadmills, staring at the magazine that I'm trying to read but who the hell can read a magazine when your bumping up and down??? Please explain!! There was one time I will admit I actually used a treadmill for over 20 minutes..I was on it once totally not in the mood and about to get off when the girl next to me started running, I decided in my head it would be a competition- me vs. her..so I start running, 5 minutes, 10 minutes..this girl just keeps going..I'm not backing down..40 minutes, 45 minutes..are u kidding me??? I start imagining I'm getting cheered on, money's on the line, I'm gonna win Christian Louboutins if I win..anyway- make a long story short, we run for 60 minutes- and I further hate the Treadmill!!
For those with injuries preventing them from running, I recommend brisk walking, eliptical, swimming, etc. Chose anything that gets you moving, out of breath, and simply something you ENJOY that you can stick to...
Running, walking, eliptical, swimming are all forms of Cardio (Cardiovascular exercise) and I highly recommend getting in at least 45 minutes 4-5 days a week...for your health, your body- and simply..for you..
